OSPI Mobile

Mobile Data Center Asset Management System

The Onsite Physical Inventory, OSPI® System, delivers Mobile Data Center Asset Management on a handheld device. It dramatically reduces the time and effort spent managing changes to the data center or performing asset inventories while greatly improving the accuracy of asset management data.

The OSPI® System is the only mobile asset management system purpose built for use in the data center. It puts a full mobile solution in the data center managers hand. Allowing asset data to be managed while in the data center.

Multiple OSPI® mobile handheld devices can be used simultaneously. The PC based OSPI® Manager initially installs the most current database on each handheld and then synchronizes moves, adds, and changes from each handheld to its master database. As each OSPI® handheld synchronizes with the OSPI® Manager, the mobile devices are provided with current data consolidated from all of the OSPI® handhelds assigned to the system. Additionally the OSPI® Manager provides asset inventory, change, and custom reports. New custom reports can be added or existing reports can be customized to suit the end user.

Grid location, orientation, and X/Y offset of Racks and Floor Mounted Devices are documented. Information recorded for rack mounted devices includes RU location, device orientation, installed child devices, i.e. power supplies, disk drives, and NIC cards etc. Device circuit connectivity is tracked as well. For power supplying devices, circuit capacity, and breaker values are captured. Powerful search functionality is provided allowing for a search of assets, space, and capacity.

The OSPI® System maintains an audit archive for inventory management, future reference, and regulatory compliance.

The OSPI® System either operates as a stand alone product or exchanges data with major DCIM systems:

• Aperture • nlyte
• dcTrack • Rackwise
• iTRACS • Viridity
